Testimonials

It’s better when you have experience on your side.

Sharon Chow

2017 B.C. Section Volunteer Coach of the Year Figure Skating Coach, 50+ years

5/5

“I developed a deep respect for her knowledge of the sport and her coaching methods. She is very motivated, organized, great with the kids, has a marvelous artistic eye to visualize something and see it through to fruition (as was easily evident in the ice shows she directed) and works hard to stay up to date with the ‘always changing’ rules within the sport of figure skating. She continued to work with some of our higher-level skaters ‘via video’, so she is no stranger to distance consultations with both skaters and clubs.”

Karen DesLauriers

Director, Langley Skating Club

5/5

“Soon after starting my new role of Director, I was thrilled, though somewhat overwhelmed at the same time. With little more than a week to start the new year, I wasn’t sure where to begin. That’s when Jo-Ann surpassed all expectations as a colleague and mentor. She elevated my confidence and gave me guidance when needed.”

N. Marleau

Past Chair and Treasurer, QFSC, past treasurer Kelowna SC, former board member CNC and OK Regions, BC, 16-year volunteer veteran

5/5

“During Jo Ann’s 7-year tenure, the QFSC (Quesnel Figure Skating Club) enjoyed robust growth in membership, expanded skater programs, and many individual skater successes.

Through her leadership, encouragement, and administrative skills, the club was successful in raising its profile within the community, region and province, bidding on and hosting regional competitions, and attracting and retaining additional professionals. Her technical prowess on the ice translated directly into elevated skater development. It was a pleasure working with a well-organized, reliable and competent coach.”
